PROJECT: Atelier Jane Rafaela ROLE: Founder, Lead Photographer, and Studio Manager DURATION: 2012 (6 months)
Project Vision
The Atelier was created to offer high-quality, timeless family photography, providing a complete and immersive experience that goes beyond traditional photo albums.
Photography's role as a keeper of memories gains deeper significance when viewed within the context of family history and experiences. It becomes an exercise in empathy, capturing the essence of the family bond.
Before the studio's launch in 2010, my foundational research with clients in Brazil and the United States centered around one question: 'How do you want to remember your life?' This led to the creation of the Fine Art Maternity photo session, a product that quickly became a cherished choice for many families.
During two years in the United States, I collaborated with major studios, while also developing a product for the underserved market in Brazil. Family sessions emerged as a recurring request from clients, gradually becoming a core focus of my work.
Home and family form the foundation of all human activities. The way individuals perceive the world, behave, and interact is deeply influenced by the development of their family and home environment.
Conversations with others about childhood photographs often resonated with my own experiences and those of many others. Despite differing backgrounds, the common thread was always affection.
In this work, light and shadow converge to dramatize a story through images, capturing one of the most memorable moments in many people's lives: the arrival of a baby.
Through these photographs, this new life is surrounded by the warmth of family affection, creating a lasting record. This documentation becomes a precious memory, shaping their emotional development and their future relationship with the world.
Guided by these principles, the business evolved its products and services to embody the core values of the brand: Love, Integrity, and Respect.
The experience extended beyond the final product, surpassing expectations at every touchpoint - from the initial inquiry to the session itself. Attention to details like sounds, scents, smiles, and comfort was crucial. Memories are not just about the images but also about the experiences lived in those moments, becoming an everlasting part of our lives.
Over a decade, these records evolved, extending into various spheres of human and social relations captured through photography. This journey opened doors to new solutions, focusing on the needs, behaviors, and motivations of each individual.
