Jando Meza Rio Rico Alumni Scholarship

Supporting  Rio Rico High School Student-Athletes

The Jando Meza Rio Rico Alumni (JMRRA) Scholarship was established in 2013 to honor the memory of Alejandro "Jando" Meza, a member of the 2004 Rio Rico High School Boys Basketball State Championship Team, who left us on October 29, 2010 at the young age of 22.

Through your generous support of the JMRRA Golf Tournament the committee has been able to award $74,600 in scholarships to 98 graduating RRHS student athletes in the last 12 years.   Additionally, tournament proceeds have provided more than $6,740 in financial support to the Rio Rico High School girls and boys basketball teams for expenses such as tournament entry fees, team apparel, travel expenses, etc. 

On May 6, 2026 the committee plans to award an additional $9,000 to deserving graduating seniors.
