Orientation & Introduction to information systems

The information taken in

• Navigating Brightspace. (where to find information, what information is important, and how not to miss important information)

• Setting up my email, and learning how to write a professional one. (Signature, Folders, Rules)

• What SIMNET is and the importance of it. (I found this very fascinating, confusing and frustrating..)

• Terms for important things and how to use them appropriately. (BCC, CC, WAFFLE)

Final thoughts

I found a good bit of this unit fascinating as I used simnet for the first time and realized the importance of it as a learning tool and I learned about things I could do within emails to make them more professional, clean, and organized. What really fascinated me about the email part was learnig what the CC and BCC mean as I didn't know what these meant for a log time and though they were useless until now. (BCC is a way to discreetly add another person to an email without other recipients seeing) (CC is a way to add other to an email when you send it to one person) I was also taught how to implement rules one rule which was used was called "DL2spam" it automatically and automatically moves emails sent from this email into this folder instead of flooding my inbox leaving room for important emails to not be missed which i found really cool and useful!
