I am an Environmental Biologist currently working at a private consulting firm, serving clients throughout the United States and internationally. I have a Professional Science Masters in Environmental Science, which was completed at Stockton University in May of 2021. My degree concentration is in Conservation Biology and Wildlife Biology.
As a scientist, I have had a vast amount of hands on experience within the field. I have several years of experience in data collection and analysis, fieldwork involving wetlands and wildlife/habitat surveys, threatened and endangered species evaluations and recovery plans, working with local and federal agencies, research design and implementation, and public/community outreach activities.
I have built a solid foundation of scientific skills, such as fieldwork and data management, as well as non-science skills, such as people management and customer experience. This combination of skills provides her with a unique set of skills that enable her to thrive in diverse positions and provide fresh perspectives.
In addition, I have built a solid foundation of outreach and educational skills. I have taken part in numerous science outreach and educational efforts throughout the community, varying from outreach seminars to formal K-12 classroom settings.
Growing up along the Jersey Shore and in the heart of the Pine Barrens, I have always had a great appreciation for all aspects of nature. I have a passion for wildlife and hope to get into the field of Wildlife Biology or Conservation Biology. I enjoy camping, hiking and biking, exercising outside, and traveling to new places.
My Master's Capstone project focused on animal behavior and cognitive ability. The project observed enrichment activities performed in the zoo setting in relation to animals' ecological placement and natural instincts, with the focus of strengthening species survival programs and reintroduction programs by incorporating appropriate enrichment practices beneficial for species to thrive during and post-captivity.
I completed my undergraduate degrees at Stockton University; I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Teacher Education with a concentration in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Childhood Studies.
I have had the opportunity to be a part of several incredible projects within the field of wildlife biology and conservation biology. Some of these projects involved (but are not limited to):
Correlation between enrichment practices and species reintroduction/survival plans
Ecosystem dynamics and White-tailed deer abundance
The Spotted Lanternfly and forest surveys
Impact of microplastics in lakes
Sustainable Red Maple sap extraction
Wetland delineations and surveys
