Current Focus

My research currently focuses on the dynamics of tropical moist convection and evaluating satellite-based precipitation estimates.

I have also recently worked on African Easterly Waves (AEWs) and their interaction with convection. This work uses tools like PV and energy budgets on data from reanalyses and WRF case studies. WRF simulations are manipulated to compare the dynamics of AEWs with and without convection present. The role AEWs play in the organization of MCSs is also examined.

More information regarding my current research can be seen in various presentations and a summary can be found in my research statement.

Other Research

Other recent research has focused on the inter-annual variability of the AEW storm track and the link between AEWs and Tropical cyclones.

In the past, I have examined the accuracy of the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) in Antarctica.

More information regarding my past research can be seen in various published literature and presentations and a summary can be found in my research statement.
