This series of drawings explores a site in Rio known as the 'Massacre Church'
originally called the 'Candalaria'. It is the site of Cathedral whose square housed
hundreds of Rios homeless youth looking for safety and a place to sleep.
In 1993 became the site of a massacre when out of uniform police
officers opened fire on the children in cover of night killing eight.
Some as young as 11 years old.
Some of the drawings contain Urucum, a traditional orangey-red ink that fades quickly.
