Curriculum Materials

Please read before beginning the classroom instruction:

The curriculum portion of the program is meant to prepare students to get the most out of the event. Preparation is highly recommended for students to take full advantage of this opportunity. The pre-event sessions help inform their choices of which companies and career clusters to engage with that most align with their values, skills, and interests. Please read through the teacher guide for more information on how to implement the program. 

The curriculum includes four sessions prior to the event with one after. Each session is estimated to take about 30-45 minutes to complete. The student workbook is offered digitally or physically. If you prefer your students to use the digital version please see the articulate website link below.  If you opt for the physical version, please have students use the Student Workbook (delivered to your BOE or school). 

The curriculum has the flexibility to be self-guided or educator-led in the classroom. The Teacher Guide will highlight the objectives and activities for each lesson while also providing you with talking points. 

Important Notes: 

• We have omitted Session 4 to avoid redundancy. It is already omitted from the student guide, but if you plan to have students use the digital version, please have them skip Session 4. 

• The sessions often direct students to use our Digital Career Book. Please note, they do NOT need to login in order to take the survey or use the resources, however, if they enter a class code it will automatically save their results. If you have not received your class code, please reach out to chelsea.katzaman@ja.org. 

• Students will need to bring their workbooks to the event. They will use the questions in session 6 to interview their chosen employers.
