The following items are not permitted to be worn in the George W. Hill Correctional Facility:
- No tight fitting clothing (Supervisor’s discretion)
- All shoes must have straps around the heel
- No see through or torn garments
- No tank tops, sleeveless shirts or other attire with “spaghetti” straps
- Nothing above mid-thigh (shorts or skirts), no splits above mid-thigh, no midriffs (shirts must cover the waist line)
- Females must wear bras and panties
- No hair accessories, hand and/or hair ties
- No hooded sweatshirts or jackets and no one will be permitted inside of a secure portion of the facility with any type of attire covering their face or capable of concealing their identity. This includes scarves, veils, hoods, hats, or any other garment. (EXCEPTION FOR APPROVED RELIGIOUS GARMENTS. Muslim females will be searched before and after leaving the visitation room by the same female Correctional Officer. All other religious attire, including head coverings of all types, worn by either Males or Females will be searched thoroughly and may be worn into the facility if all searches are negative for contraband.)
- No double layer clothing
- No coats or hats
- No blankets, bibs, bottles, diaper bags or pacifiers
- No jewelry, except wedding bands, engagement rings or religious medals
Other Rules:
- No pictures, cards or letters are allowed to be brought into the facility
- No currency, including checks or money orders. Money can be placed on an inmate’s account using the kiosks located in the lobby.
- No pagers or cell phones, PDA’s or other communication devices.
- No gum or candy or any other food items.
- NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS, MATCHES OR LIGHTERS
- NO CLOTHING (SCRUBS/OUTFITS) RESEMBLING INMATE ATTIRE IN COLOR OR DESIGN
- All visitors to this facility are required to arrive by vehicle. There is no walking along the facility grounds permitted by visitors.
- Visitors can ask to speak to the Shift Commander if at any point they have an issue during visitation.
Warning:
Your person and vehicle are subject to search at anytime while on prison property and a pat search will be performed on any individual seeking entrance into the secure portion of the facility. Those seeking entrance to the secure facility will also be subjected to scanning by a metal detector and ION Scan narcotics system. The George W. Hill Correctional Facility is also a “tobacco free facility,” the smoking of cigarettes or the use of tobacco products is prohibited at all times while on prison property.
