Article 1 (Purpose): The purpose of these Rules is to prescribe measures and responses necessary to prevent harassment, etc., in order to smoothly carry out the business stipulated in the Constitution of the Japanese Association of Indian Studies and Buddhism (hereafter, "the Association").
Article 2 (Definitions): In these Rules, the meanings of the terms listed in the following items shall be as prescribed respectively in those items.
Harassment refers to sexual harassment, power harassment, maternity harassment, or any other conduct that makes another person feel uncomfortable through an act against his/her will.
"Disciplined member" refers to the member who has been disciplined by his/her organization for violating the rules on harassment, etc. established by the organization.
"Disciplining organization" refers to the organization that has punished* the disciplined member as described in the previous item.
"Academic conference, etc." refer to activities stipulated in Article 3, Section 2 of the Rules.
"Board of Directors" refers to the officers and other board members stipulated in Article 7 of the Constitution.
Article 3 (accuse): The Society can receive an application by a member and carry out the following disciplinary actions against an accused member.
Restriction of participation in all or part of academic conferences, etc.
Dismissal of the Director, etc.
2. The application in the preceding paragraph shall be addressed to the President of the Society, with objective data attached, such as a written statement of the disposition issued by the disciplinary authority.
3. The Board of Directors shall decide whether or not to impose the dispositions described in Paragraph 1, as well as the content and period of the disposition.
Article 4 (Investigation Review Committee): Upon receiving an application as described in Paragraph 1 of the preceding Article, the President shall establish an Investigation Review Committee consisting of Directors or Trustees and Executive Committee members.
2. The chairperson shall be selected from among the Investigation Review Committee members.
3. The Investigation Review Committee shall examine the contents of the application in consultation with the Board of Directors and report on its disposition.
Article 5 (Revision and Abolition): Revisions or deletions of these regulations shall be decided by the Board of Directors.
Supplementary Provisions
These regulations shall take effect as of December 20, 2020.
