Main menu
To open the main menu tap the screen
The map
Actions menu
To open the Actions menu hold your finger on the screen
Add marker- Adds a new marker to the cross mark visible on the map
Draw and measure - With this feature you can draw areas and routes to the map
Cancel download - Stops map tile downloading. This function is visible while you’re downloading map tiles.
Download map tiles - With this function you can load map tiles from around the center of the map. To use this feature a Map Downloader - in app purchase is required. The Map Downloader can also be opened from the route’s information with the “download maps” feature
Downloading map tiles
Hold your finger on the map to open the actions menu.
Select the "Load map tiles" from the menu.
Press the center cursor + button to select the first point of the area to be loaded.
Move the map so that the box on the map covers the area you want to load.
Press the box button on the right tool menu to start the download.
Select the map layers to download and click OK to start the download.
You can cancel the download with the cancel download function in the actions menu.
Check the size of the map tile storage in the settings before downloading maps.
Destinations
Through the destinations menu you can browse GPS devices, markers, routes, areas and shared information.
From here you can share markers as a GPX-file. Click “select” (the edit icon in Android), choose the markers/routes you want to share, and select “share” (the share icon in Android).
Importing areas from Oma Riista
You can import areas from Oma Riista through the Objects menu by selecting “Import” and “Oma riista-area” and giving the area code provided by the Oma Riista app and clicking OK. The areas will be imported to the “areas”-file.
Importing areas as a GPX-file from the internet
A GPX-file can be imported through the Objects menu by selecting “Import” and “GPX” and giving the file’s URL-address. Add a name for the folder to "Display name”.
Trackers
From the Trackers view you can see the data of the GPS trackers connected to your device and you can add a new GPS tracker that supports SMS or GPRS positioning.
GPRS positioning support (in app purchase)
The app supports positioning of supported GPS trackers using data connection.
Add the GPS trackers as follows:
Make sure the GPS tracker is on and is connected to the network
Select destinations / Trackers / Add
Enter the name and phone number for the GPS tracker to be added, select tracker type, enter the IMEI, APN, and SMS password for the GPS tracker. For the Watch/SE tracker type the 10 digit HW identifier to IMEI field. For the ICAR GPS tracker type the 12 digit ID number to IMEI field.
Select "Connect". If everything went ok, the message "GPS tracker connection is ready ..."
If any of the steps failed, correct the information by following the instructions and perform the "Setup connection to the GPS tracker" function.
You can share the location of your GPS tracker with another app user by using the "Share" function on the Tracker view. Note that all link recipients will see your GPS tracker's position. Only position information is shared, no other information is shared. By removing the GPS tracker from the app, all its shared data is deleted.
The APN value is the access point of your operator, in Finland for DNA, Elisa and Telia operators, it is internet, for Moi mobile operator data.moimobile.fi
With old Saunalahti SIM cards (the SIM card serial number starts with 00000 ) APN is internet.saunalahti
Tracker
Open the Tracker view by clicking GPS tracker icon on the map or by selecting Objects/Trackers/tracker of your choosing from the main menu.
Markers
On the markers view you can edit the markers
Marker
The Marker view opens by clicking the marker or by selecting Objects/Markers/Marker of your choosing
Adding a marker
You can add a marker with the Add marker function on the functions menu, or by coordinates through Objects/Markers/Edit/Add.
Routes
On the routes menu you can edit the saved routes
Route
You can open the Route view by clicking the route on the map or by selecting Objects/Routes/Route of your choosing
Adding a route
You can add a route by the Draw and Add function of the functions menu, or by selecting Objects/Routes/Edit/Add.
Areas
On the areas view you can edit your saved Oma Riista-areas.
Area
The Area view can be opened by clicking the border of the area on the map or by choosing Objects/Areas/Area of your choosing
Search
On the search menu you can search locations from the location database.
By clicking geographic position name you can center the map to the selected position or start the navigation towards the position.
Teams
Teams feature allows you to create a team to share location between team members.
As the creator of the team, you can delete the team, which will remove it from all members.
A team member can leave the team, in which case the location is no longer shared to/from the team.
Settings
Note the following settings to manage location sharing:
Sharing location to team
When the location is updated - The location is shared every time updated
When app is activated - The location is shared when the app is opened.
Background navigation accuracy (IoS)
Background navigation off - The location is not shared when the app is in the background
Best / Power saving - The location is shared when the app is in the background.
Background navigation (Android)
The location is shared / not shared when the app is in the background.
Note that background navigation increases power consumption.
