At STRIVE, we aim to build the future of geotechnical infrastructure that is sustainable, reliable, and resilient. By combining innovative experiments with advanced computational modelling, we uncover how soils react to extreme events and evolving environmental conditions. Our mission is simple: turn science into solutions that make infrastructure safer, greener, and longer-lasting. We contribute to several UN SDGs through our research for a sustainable future.
Stability of Geostructures – tunnels, retaining walls, slopes, foundations, and reinforced earth structures
Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering – seismic response and resilience of soil–structure systems
Pavement Geotechnics – performance and sustainability of transportation infrastructure
Unsaturated Soil Mechanics – behaviour of soils under varying moisture and suction conditions
Experimental Geotechnics – physical modelling, advanced laboratory testing, and field studies
Bio-Geotechnics – biologically inspired and sustainable soil improvement techniques
We are looking for motivated students and researchers interested in geotechnical engineering.
