About Me
My name is Jade Jaca and I am a first-generation college student pursuing a B.S. in Human Biology at UC Santa Cruz, graduating in June 2025. My journey has been shaped by resilience, adaptability, and a deep passion for healthcare. Transitioning from a religious high school to UC Santa Cruz broadened my perspective and strengthened my communication skills, preparing me to engage with diverse communities.
Science has always been one of my strongest subjects, and my passion for healthcare deepened through both academics and hands-on experience. Courses in biology and chemistry have sharpened my analytical thinking and reinforced the vital connection between oral health and overall well-being. My role as a dental assistant allowed me to apply classroom knowledge to real-world patient care, strengthening my ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and foster a supportive environment.
Being the first in my family to attend college is one of my proudest achievements. It reflects my perseverance, discipline, and commitment to excelling under pressure. As I prepare for the Dental Admission Test (DAT) and look ahead to dental school, I am eager to continue growing, learning, and making a meaningful impact in the field of dentistry—ensuring every patient receives care that is both effective and compassionate.
