The PUFFS Study is looking to enroll 200 young adults to participate in a longitudinal study on brain development!
Eligible subjects:
Are either 18 or 19 years old
Have or have not used marijuana and/or tobacco products
Have NO irremovable metal in/on their body (braces, nerve stimulators, metal implants, etc.)
Are able to complete in person appointments in San Diego over the next three years
Participation Includes:
3 In Person Appointments (18 months apart): $120 each
Questionnaires, including measures of mood, personality, and your experiences with substances including alcohol, marijuana, & nicotine/tobacco products
Cognitive (i.e., memory & attention) tasks on an iPad
Two neuroimaging sessions using MRI and MEG to obtain pictures of your brain
Small blood draw
Short Monthly Surveys (<5 mins.) $5 each
Final Phone Interview (4 years after first appointment) $40
Participants who complete everything will earn $580 in total!
Appointments take place at the W.M. Keck Center for fMRI, located at UCSD in the School of Medicine

To determine if you are eligible, we must conduct a 10-15 minute interview over the phone.
We will ask you a few questions about your medical & mental health history, as well as your experiences with substances including alcohol, cannabis, and nicotine/tobacco products.
