I have a background in supramolecular chemistry, physical chemistry, materials science and organic synthesis. My research interests are vested in nanomaterials, green chemistry, and sustainability. Specific topical areas of research include: ion-responsive photochromic sensors, nano-polysaccharides, and biomass utilization. Current and future research efforts will focus on: 1) biomimetic scaffolds; 2) bio-nanocomposites; 3) induced salt effects on Carrageenan and polysaccharides, and; 4) effects of transition metals on the folding and stability of polysaccharides, biopolymers and proteins.
