The Gender Pay Gap

Hello!

My name is Jacob McCartney and I am a sophomore at the College of Coastal Georgia. I am a nursing major and hope to one day work as a nurse practitioner, running my own clinic. This website is a compilation of my projects from my English 1102 class with Dr. Mary McGinnis. For our projects, my group and I researched various ways that women are oppressed today. The topic I decided to research was the gender pay gap. The average woman in America is paid seventy-six cents for every dollar the average man is paid, so I wanted to figure out why. The purpose of our project was to find out why women are oppressed, and to compare our findings with the personal experiences of other students on campus to determine the level of oppression that our peers face.
