Returned to PKU SIS for 10 months of dissertation field research supported by Fulbright U.S. Student Award from March to December 2015. 


University of California San Diego 2012– 2018 

Research Assistant for Dr. Erik Gartzke 

Research the effects of economic interdependence on deterrence as well as Chinese space and cyberspace policy for a DoD Minerva Research Initiative Grant on Cross-Domain Deterrence. Served as ‘publications czar' for CDD project and helped manage the research workflow and coordinate between authors to make the team more productive. 


Duke University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2010– 2011 

Research Assistant for Dr. Shi Tianjian and Dr. Liu Kang 

Worked with Dr. Shi Tianjian (Duke) and Dr. Liu Kang (SJTU) to research American public opinion towards the PRC. Helped design a survey to study US public opinion towards China. Analyzed results 2010 Asian Barometer Survey data; used data for honors thesis. Led a field team to collect data for the Survey of International Press in China.

Analyzed the intersection between Chinese politics and markets for a range of institutional investors and multinational corporations. Authored numerous corporate briefings, political risk assessments, and several government reports. Worked as an independent consultant until summer of 2013.
