How to Apply for Oral Presentations in English

1. Giving an Oral Presentation in English at the Conference

   There are two cases for oral presentations in English:

Case 1:  You give a presentation as the lead presenter

• The lead presenter must be a member of the Japanese Association of Art Education (JAAEd).

• If you are not yet a member, please see Section 2. Membership Procedures for information on how to become a member.

• After obtaining membership, please apply to give a research presentation by following the procedure described in Section 3. Application Process for Presenters.


Case 2: A JAAEd member serves as the lead presenter, and you participate as a co-presenter

• Co-presenters other than the lead presenter are not required to be JAAEd members.

• The lead presenter is responsible for submitting the application for the research presentation.

2. Membership procedures

(1) Fill out and submit the membership application form on the JAAEd website:

(2) You need a recommendation from one current member. Please enter the recommender’s name, membership number, and email address in the form. 

If you already know a JAAEd member, please ask them to recommend you. 

If you do not know a member who can recommend you, please send your CV to the JAAEd English Presentation Support Team at

jaaed-english-support@googlegroups.com

and request an introduction to a potential recommender.

CV submission deadline for presenters in Oita: Friday, January 8, 2027.
The team will make every effort to introduce a recommender within three days.


(3) There are two categories of membership:

• Full members

• Student members (includes both undergraduate and graduate students)



(4) Once your membership is approved, follow the office instructions to pay the annual membership fee:

• Full members: 8,000 yen

• Student members: 500 yen

Payment can be made online by credit card via the Association website:

Please note: Regardless of when you pay during the year, membership is valid until March 31. For example, if you join in October 2026, your membership is valid until March 31, 2027. Membership does not automatically expire on April 1, but the following year’s fee must be paid by the end of July. If no payment is made for two consecutive years, your membership will be suspended.


3. Application process for presenters

(1) Each lead presenter may submit only one presentation.

(2) After the lead presenter and all co-presenters have completed conference registration and paid the participation fee, the lead presenter should complete the Presentation Title Registration (Application for an Oral Presentation) online. At that time, please enter the registration number displayed when the conference registration was completed.

(3) Once the Presentation Title Registration (Application for an Oral Presentation) has been completed, instructions for submitting your manuscript to the Book of Abstracts will be provided.


Conference participation fees　

Early Bird: Until March 10, 2027 (Credit card)
Full members: 5,500 yen,  Student members: 3,000 yen,  Non-members: 6,500 yen

From March 11, 2027 (Cash payment at the conference venue)
Full members: 6,000 yen, Student members: 3,500 yen, Non-members: 7,000 yen

Presentation time

• Oral presentation: 20 minutes

• Q&A: 10 minutes

• Total: 30 minutes

4. Reception

Date and time: March 20 (Sat), 2027, 18:30–20:30 (Doors open at 18:00)

     Participation Fees

     Early Bird: Until March 10, 2027 (Credit card)

            Full members: 8,500 yen, Student members: 5,500 yen, Non-members: 10,000 yen

     From March 11, 2027 (Cash payment at the venue; limited availability)

            Full members: 10,000 yen, Student members: 6,500 yen, Non-members: 12,000 yen


The reception will be a standing buffet-style gathering where participants can meet and interact with one another.
There will also be an awards ceremony and entertainment. Please feel free to join us.

 
5. Access to Oita University

It takes approximately 60 minutes by airport express bus from Oita Airport to Oita Station, and approximately 15 minutes by train from Oita Station to Oita-Daigaku-Mae Station.
