WHO
Students (Grades 1-8) who are interested in the Japanese language and culture.
WHAT
An team-based competition between students over a game of Kahoot! online. Teams will answer questions that are derived from the official Junior Japan Bowl 2021 Study Guide.
WHERE & WHEN
Virtual Competition hosted on Friday, May 7, 2021
Level 1 (Grades 1-3): 5:00-6:00pm EDT
Level 2 (Grades 4-6): 6:15-7:15pm EDT
Level 3 (Grades 7-8): 7:30-8:30pm EDT
Online Software Practice Event hosted on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 6:00pm-7:00pm
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Each school is allowed to register as many teams per competition level. Each team will consist of 2 or 3 students from the corresponding grade levels.
A team’s final score will be the average score of the students on the team.
A link to join the Virtual Software Practice Event and Virtual Competition will be sent to the email addresses listed on the registration form. (No school email address, please.)
Competitors must join the virtual meeting and Kahoot! game using the unique nickname they listed on the registration form.
The host will confirm all participants before providing the Kahoot passcode and starting the competition.
Level 2 and Level 3 participants must be able to type in Japanese to answer Open-Ended Questions. Be sure that your keyboard enables you to input Japanese characters and English.
EACH competitor must fill out this Registration Form by April 23, 2021.
The event is free to all who want to participate, but we expect every student to follow the following rules:
Participants must use the unique Nickname used in this Registration Form when logging into the virtual meeting and the Kahoot game.
Participants will behave in a manner that is acceptable in a real competition setting or risk immediate removal and disqualification.
J-LEARN is proud to announce that it will host a virtual practice competition, or trial session, of the J2B competition on Monday, March 29, 2021. All students are encouraged to sign up to get a taste of the Junior Japan Bowl experience before the real event in May.
