Associate Professor at UCL School of Pharmacy in London and was appointed to a senior lectureship at UCL School of Pharmacy in July 2016. Prior to this, he was an RCUK Academic Fellowship in Cancer Chemotherapy at the London School of Pharmacy following his appointment in October 2008. He graduated in Chemistry with Management from King’s College London in 1996 which was followed by a PhD in Organic Chemistry at King’s College and at Kingston University under the supervision of Professor Keith Jones. Subsequently he worked as a postdoctoral researcher under Professor William Motherwell at University College London for 4 years. This was followed by a two year postdoctoral fellowship at The Institute of Cancer Research working with Professor Ted McDonald, Professor Keith Jones and Dr Ian Collins on a range of anticancer drug discovery projects. Projects cover 3D printing, Arduino, Virtual Reality and Chemical Synthesis in the group.

Head of the lab of Biosensors in Neuroscience at the IMDEA Nanoscience Institute in Madrid, Spain. Valle obtained her BSc in Chemistry in 2008 and in that year she joined the Medicinal Chemistry Institute at CSIC with Prof. A. Martínez to develop neurogenic and neuroprotective drugs for neurodegenerative diseases. In 2012 she obtained her PhD and in 2013 she joined The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla with Prof. P. Dawson. She focussed in the development of Quantum Dot nanoparticles and peptide synthesis and conjugation. In 2016 she returned to Spain as Juan de la Cierva fellow at the Centre for Biological research from CSIC. In 2018, she established her own research group thanks to a Junior Leader fellowship from la Caixa. In 2021, she moved her lab to IMDEA Nanoscience and is now head of the lab of Biosensors in neuroscience.

Former Senior Director Drug Discovery at Janssen R&D Spain and France. Independent Consultant. Certified Time to Think Facilitator and Coach
Javier Fernández Gadea is a former Senior Director of Drug Discovery at Janssen R&D Spain and France. He has a PhD in Chemistry and was certified as a Time to Think Facilitator and Coach. During his tenure at Janssen, he started the Medicinal Chemistry Department in Spain and was a full member of the Management Board. He also led the Drug Discovery Centre of Janssen in France. He is a member of several scientific organizations and has been actively involved in Open Innovation and collaborative networks. He has delivered over 50 workshops and various trainings as a Facilitator and Coach. He retired from Janssen in 2020 and is pursuing personal projects related to creative writing and the application of Time to Think to business settings, schools, and universities.
