Brussels Airport is located close to Brussels and Meise Botanic Garden. Depending on where you will be staying, public transport might be the most convenient option to get to your destination.
International trains arrive at Brussels-Midi train station.
Meise Botanic Garden is located along the bus line R50 "Brussel Noord - Meise - Londerzeel", which stops right in front of the main entrance. The most convenient approach is to get on the bus at Brussels-North train station and get off at the bus stop "Plantentuin Meise" after about 40 min. There is a bus service every 15 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 30 minutes on Sundays and public holidays. Plan your route on the website of "De Lijn". Tickets can be bought by using the "De Lijn" app, or by using your contactless bank card in the bus.
Meise Botanic Garden is located at Nieuwelaan 38, Meise, along the highway A12 (Brussels - Antwerp). Take exit 3 Meise. Parking is available at the main entrance and the standard parking fee is €7. The parking is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. but exiting is possible until 6:30 p.m.
The conference will take place in the room "Balsamina" in the "Vlaamse Hoeve". This building is located on the right-hand side of the main entrance square. You do not need to enter the Garden itself.
There is a great variety of accommodations at different prize ranges in Brussels. It might be convenient to look for a place to stay near Brussels-North train station or along the route of bus line R50. An example of a basic hotel is Ibis Brussels Expo Atomium.
Hotels are rare north of Brussels but there are B&Bs, guest houses, apartments, etc.
Accommodation in Meise is limited but some suggestions are B&B Sterckxhof, B&B Amelhof, Guest House Time to Escape, and Hotel Falko.
September in Belgium is mild and changeable, with daytime temperatures around 19–20 °C and cooler nights near 10 °C. Expect a mix of sunny and overcast days, rain is fairly frequent but rarely heavy, and there is roughly 5 hours of sunshine per day. Humidity remains moderate to high, and daylight gradually shortens from about 13.5 to 11.5 hours over the month, making early autumn a pleasant but unpredictable time to visit.
Layered clothing is recommended, along with a warm sweater or jacket for the evenings. A compact raincoat is useful for sudden showers, and comfortable footwear is advised for wet streets and changing conditions.
Be advised that although the venue has heating, it will not yet be switched on.
