ACCOMMODATION

Lodging facilities

You will be accommodated as part of your registration package in a simple, shared dormitory at CEMACS (dormitories are a shared space, bunk-bed style facility). Bed linen (sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and small towels) will be provided. Bathrooms and lavatories are in a  shared common area.

Please note that the accommodation at CEMACS is located within the Penang National Park area and therefore will NOT provide a shower cap, towel, soap, toilet roll, shampoo or body shower gel. Please do not expect hotel services during your stay at CEMACS as they are a research center and not a hotel. These are very basic amenities, so please expect to be close to nature as they are located within the national park.

Food services

All meals are included for the duration of the workshop: breakfast (7x), lunch (6x), tea (6x) and dinner (6x) and one BBQ night.  Accommodations will be made for participants that have dietary restrictions.

Things to pack

Be sure to pack these items:

1. Sports attire: for field work

2. Hat/cap

3. Towel

4. Toiletries (personal hygiene items: soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)

5. Poncho/light raincoat

6. Comfortable clothing for non-outdoor activities (lab, lectures)

7. Slippers/sandals

8. Stationery (pen, pencil, notebook)

9. Mosquito repellent

10. Sunblock

11. Small torch/flashlight

12. Snacks

13. Sunglasses

14. Dissection kit (including fine-tipped forceps)

15. Tablet (ipad or similar for digital illustration, if interested)
