⚪︎当研究室の教育方針 / Educational Policy of the Laboratory
当研究室では維持管理とは、「計画・設計から施工、供用、補修補強、撤去、リサイクルまでの構造物のトータルのスパンで設計する」ことであると考え、既存の枠組みを超えて新たな土木工学体系の創出を目指して活動しています。
これまでの工学は個々の分野を深化させることで物事を理解し、問題を克服してきました。
しかし個々のテクノロジーが相当なレベルに発達した今日においては、それらを有機的に組み合わせ、幸福の創出につなげるための知恵が求められるようになってきています。
特に土木工学は、我々の生活を物理面、経済面、心理面などあらゆる側面から支えるものであるため、個々の構成要素間の相互作用の理解なしでは社会を長く支える構造物を構築することはできません。
これからの土木技術者には、土木工学という枠を超え、理工学、社会学、ひいては人間そのものに対する深い理解が求められます。
当研究室では、来る時代を担う「エンジニア」としての素養を身につけ、社会のリーダーとして活躍してもらうため、これまで先人により培われた膨大な知恵を理解し身につけながら、同時に皆さんの独創に基づいた技術開発をできるようなサポートをしたいと思います。
In our laboratory, ‘maintenance and management’ encapsulates the concept of designing structures across their entire lifespan—from planning and design to construction, service, restoration, decommissioning, and recycling. We strive to break beyond existing frameworks and create a new civil engineering paradigm.
Traditionally, the evolution of engineering has been rooted by deepening individual disciplines to tackle specific problems. However, in our current era where each field has advanced to a sophisticated level, there is a growing need for collaborative approaches that integrate diverse knowledge and technology for the betterment of today’s society.
Since civil engineering, in particular, underpins the civilization in various aspects such as tangible, economic, psychological dimension, it is impossible to construct structures that can sustain society over the long term without understanding the interactions between each component.
Therefore, to be effective in their roles, future civil engineers must extend their expertise beyond the traditional scope of civil engineering, acquiring profound insights not only into science and engineering but also into sociology and the psychological aspects of human existence.
Here, we are committed to nurturing the qualities of an 'engineer' capable of leading the next generation in every individual, by providing consistent assistance that allows you to benefit from the rich legacy of knowledge from those who came before you, while also aspiring you to create your own groundbreaking technologies.

教員からもテーマを提示しますが、もしも各自興味のあるテーマがあればそちらを優先し、サポートします。前述のように新たな社会を切り拓くためには、既存の知見を理解した上で、それらを新しい視点から再統合する必要があります。皆さんならではの斬新な着想に期待しています。
While research topics are often proposed by the faculty members, student-initiated ideas are warmly welcomed and strongly prioritized, and guarantied with a full support. As previously mentioned, charting a course for a new society requires a deep understanding of existing knowledge and the ability to reframe it through fresh perspectives. We eagerly look forward to discovering your unique and innovative ideas.
