Yoh Shoei Archive, 2018-

葉祥栄アーカイブの構築と一連の研究

2019年2月、建築家・葉祥栄氏から作品の図面・文書・模型・プロダクトおよび蔵書が九州大学芸術工学研究院環境設計グローバル・ハブに寄託され、「葉祥栄アーカイブ」が活動を開始した。葉デザイン事務所を福岡に開設した1970年以来、葉祥栄氏は建築・インテリア・プロダクトと多岐にわたる設計活動に精力的に取り組み、国内外で高く評価されてきた。氏の作品の構想から実施に至る多様な局面を具体的に示す資料群は、デザイン・建築・技術・芸術の観点からきわめて重要であり、今後の研究・教育活動に役立てられる。

岩元研究室では、葉祥栄アーカイブに寄託された資料の整理・分析を行うとともに、他研究室および他大学と協働して多面的な葉祥栄研究を行っている。

Shoei Yoh Archive

Projects in collaboration with; UNSW CoDe; Inoue Lab, Kyushu University

In February 2019, Architect Shoei Yoh entrusted the archives of his lifeworks to Environmental Design Global Hub of Kyushu University. 

Shoei Yoh is known as one of the most inspirational architects in Japan, and he is recognized as one of the forerunners of digital architecture. In 1970, he founded his firm, Yoh Design Office, in Fukuoka, Japan. In the beginning, he was mostly engaged in product design and interior design works. Then he transited to designing architecture from private houses to  large public buildings and establishes himself as one of the leading avant-gardes architects in the world.

Masaaki Iwamoto Laboratory is working actively on this archive, and develop the research activities in collaboration with international researchers.
