Aims and Scope
The IWABIMIX project intends to value the use of different indusrial waste streams or by-products in the manufacture of Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA) for road pavements, such as:
Waste from the paper manufacturing industry
Waste from the wood panel manufacturing industry
Waste from metallurgical processes
Waste from the plastics manufacturing industry
Following the "Asphalt is not trashfalt", the IWABIMIX project will take the advantage of the potential of the industrial waste to manufacture WMA.
Biomass fly ashes from the paper industry
Lignin-rich industrial waste from the hardwood panel manufacture
Steel slag (GGBFS)
Plastic waste (polipropilene, PP)
