Ivana Egic, visual artist, holds a Master’s degree in Art Education and Fine Arts from the Academy of Applied Arts at the University of Rijeka, Croatia (2011), where she specialized in painting. Her artistic practice spans over two decades and includes painting, drawing, photography, jewelry-making, and explorations in new media. Since relocating to Visby, Gotland in 2014, Ivana has become an integral part of the island’s cultural landscape. She teaches art courses at Folkuniversitetet and regularly exhibits her work both locally and internationally. Her commitment to community engagement is reflected in her leadership roles—Vice Chair of Öppna Ateljéer Gotland (2024-2025), board member of Gotlands Kulturrum (2024–2025), and current board member of Galleri Apoteket. Ivana is the founder of Art ćakula (Artistic Conversation), an international online project that fosters dialogue among artists from the Balkans and beyond. She also co-initiated Konstpicknick (Art Picnic), a collaborative event that brings together professional artists and the public through creative workshops and outdoor exhibitions. In 2020, she received a scholarship from the Visby Silverhättan Rotary Club via the Ann Wolff Cultural Fund, recognizing her artistic contributions on Gotland. She has been a member of the Swedish Artists' Association since 2021 and actively participates in the Konstverket initiative. In 2023, Ivana founded her art company EgaArt, opening a studio at Gotlands Kulturrum and later relocating to Signalgatan 13D in Visby in 2025. Through EgaArt, she continues to offer art courses, curate exhibitions, and develop interdisciplinary projects that enrich the local art scene. Her recent co-organization of The Woman’s Counterpoint on International Women’s Day 2025 highlighted her dedication to elevating women’s voices in the arts. That same spring, she was honored for her participation in the conference Croatian Roots and Swedish Wings, organized by the Croatian Embassy in Stockholm and Uppsala.
Ivana’s work is deeply rooted in both personal expression and collective experience —bridging cultures, disciplines, and generations through art.
