Artist Statement
"As an artist deeply engaged in the exploration of the female form, my work serves as a conduit to illuminate the inherent beauty, strength, and resilience of women. My artistic practice is devoted to the depiction of the naked female body, employing a diverse array of painting techniques to encapsulate the essence of femininity. Throughout history, the depiction of female nudity has often emphasized eroticism and sensuality. In my works, however, attitude, emotions, and the state in which a woman finds herself are paramount. My paintings are characterized by vivid color and expressiveness, primarily executed with acrylics. I apply color with a suggestive brushstroke that provides insight into the full spectrum of emotional states. In certain segments, one can discern the impressions of contemporary nudism, as well as the heroic archetypes of the Amazons, thus expressing the diversity of women. Through my oeuvre, I endeavor to initiate a critical discourse on the multifaceted roles of women in society and the variegated experiences that shape our identities.
Rooted in a childhood enriched by artistic influences, my passion for the visual arts was kindled early on. This intrinsic motivation guided my academic journey to the Academy of Applied Arts at the University of Rijeka, where I attained a Master's degree in Art Education. This formal training has endowed me with the technical acumen and conceptual framework necessary to materialize my creative visions.
For me, art is not merely a medium of expression but a means of constructing an autonomous world—one wherein I articulate my introspections and convey cogent messages. I am a firm proponent of the belief that creativity is an omnipresent potential within each individual; it merely requires the cultivation of skill and the audacity to manifest it. Through my artistic endeavors, I aspire to incite others to recognize and embrace their creative capacities, fostering a greater appreciation for the power of artistic expression."
