The Challenge: Cut out all types of soda from the diet for the next 21 days.
The Reasoning: Although sugar is a form of carbohydrate, too much is a bad thing. The way the body processes carbohydrates is by making and secreting insulin. This insulin allows the body to use, process and store carbohydrates as energy. However, the amount of sugar found in an average can of soda causes the body to secrete larger than normal amounts of insulin which leads to insulin resistance and eventually a condition called diabetes.
The Outcome: Possible weight loss, reduced risk of cavities, reduced risk of diabetes (that also means reduced risk of: kidney failure, eye issues, heart disease, stroke risk, heart attack risk, nerve issues, bladder problems)
