How would you describe yourself when talking about your skin tone & racial identity?
I describe myself as a black light/fair skinned young woman. Although I am light skin, I am not mixed with any European decent which most people tend to think and usually find it interesting that I am mixed with Jamaican.
How important would it be for young children, in trying to interrupt the cycle of racism, for the teachers to apply the ABE goals?
Applying ABE goals is crucial for young children in breaking the cycle of racism. Early childhood is such a formative period for identity development and understanding diversity. By implementing ABE, teachers lay the groundwork for children to embrace fairness, challenge stereotypes, and value diversity.
