Keisuke Ito, MD, PhD

Dr. Keisuke Ito is a tenured Full Professor of Cell Biology, Medicine, and Oncology, and serves as Director of Scientific Resources at the Stem Cell Institute, Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein), New York. He specializes in stem cell biology, hematology, and oncology. After earning his M.D. (2000) and Ph.D. (2004) from Keio University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan, and completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, he established his laboratory at Einstein in 2012. His research investigates stem cell self-renewal and differentiation, employing single-cell techniques, animal models, and omics assays to elucidate the key mechanisms governing hematopoietic stem cells and related disorders, including myelodysplastic syndromes, sickle cell disease, and myeloid leukemias.
