Introduction to Modern Advances in Algebra

The second edition of Introduction to Modern Advances in Algebra (ITMAIA) took place on 9th-11th April 2025 at the University of Manchester. 

We aim to bring together PhD students in algebra to showcase all of what modern advances in the field have to offer. We are following on from the success of the inaugural event in February 2024.

We are pleased to have three invited speakers delivering mini-courses on Lie Algebras and Cohomology, Inverse Semigroups and their Algebras, and Representation Theory of Braid Groups.

This conference offers a 'hands-on' approach with two talks given by each invited speaker, as well as a problems session in each of the three topics.

We are pleased to offer postgraduate students a call for contributed talks and posters in any area of algebra. Please see the registration page for details.
