The Itinerant Deaf Cinema Festival celebrates Deaf Cinema, promoting participation, accessibility, and collaboration between Deaf, hearing, and CODA communities in the cinema industry.
The festival takes place over 3-days of short film screenings, talks & signs, workshops, performances, and round tables, with the aim of valuing Sign Languages and Deaf identity.
The event is fully accessible in Italian Sign Language (LIS), International Sign and italian.
The International Deaf Cinema Manifesto is an open and collective process that invites artists, filmmakers, and audiences to reflect on the meaning and structure of Deaf Cinema today.
Through shared discussions, contributions, and collective writing, the aim is to define Deaf Cinema together: its languages, values, aesthetics, and political dimensions.
The Manifesto is intended to be a living document, evolving through participation, dialogue, and the diverse perspectives of different cultures and communities.
