Prof. Dr Shona Whyte is associate professor (maître de conférences) at the Université Nice-Sophia Antipolis where she teaches EFL, translation and TEFL, and researches language teaching and learning with technologies. She holds a PhD in linguistics from Indiana University Bloomington (1994). Her current interests include the use of technologically mediated activities to promote unrehearsed second language communication, and exploiting social media networks for professional development. Her recent publications include Implementing and Researching Technological Innovation in Language Teaching: The Case of Interactive Whiteboards for EFL in French Schools. Palgrave Macmillan (2015) and the co-edited volume Teaching languages with technology: communicative approaches to interactive whiteboard use. A resource book for teacher development. Prof. Dr. Gary Beauchamp is full professor of Education and Director of Research in the School of Education at Cardiff Metropolitan University. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as supervising PhD students from UK, Jordan and Kuwait. His research focuses on ICT, particularly interactive technologies, and he has been involved in many funded research projects in the area of ICT in teaching and learning. He has published widely in academic journals and is author of ‘ICT in the Primary School: From Pedagogy to Practice’ (2012) and Computing and ICT in the Primary School From pedagogy to practice (2017).
Prof. Dr. Thomas Irion is full professor of Educational Research and Primary School Pedagogy. He's also the director of the Center for Media Education at the Pädagogische Hochschule Schwäbisch Gmünd. He is involved in several national research projects on educational technology. Currently he coordinates the ProMedia Primar 3P research project, which is funded by the German Telecommunications company TELEKOM. One of the main aims of the project is to support the integration of new technologies into teaching and learning processes in German primary schools. Sanderin van Hazebrouck Thompson (M.A) studied Teaching English as a Foreign Language for primary and secondary schools at the Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg. After the state exam, she started the Master of Arts program in TEFL and finished an additional qualification in Teaching German as a Foreign Language. She currently works as a primary school teacher in Eppelheim, where she has developed several projects on technology-enhanced language learning.
Tobias Damm is a primary school teacher at the Grundschule Mutlangen. He is very enthusiastic about the use of new technologies for teaching young learners. He has been one of the main driving forces for the effective integration of technologies into teaching and learning in his school, and he has developed many interesting projects involving the use of various technologies, such as: Ipads and videoconferencing.
Ton Koenraad (M.A) worked as senior ICT-E consultant at Hogeschool Utrecht, University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands. Since 2011, as owner of TELLConsult, his activities have involved the acquisition, development and evaluation of European (EU) projects in the field of modern languages, teacher education and e-learning.
