Biography

Shih-Hau Fang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in communication engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 1999, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in communication engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 2001 and 2008, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei, Taiwan. 

He was the Vice President for Research Development and Director of AI Research Center, Yuan Ze University (YZU), Taoyuan City, Taiwan, and held the positions of Chief Scientist for AIoT with Far EasTone. He has authored hundreds technical journal and conference papers. His research interests include Mm-wave radar sensing and acoustic signal processing and applications. 

Prof. Fang has been consistently recognized as one of the top 2% scientists in the field of networking and telecommunications from 2019 to 2024. He was the recipient of the several awards for his research work, including Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award (Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering, 2017), Outstanding Research Award (YZU, 2018), Best Synergy Award (Far Eastern Group, 2018), Future Technology Award (MOST, 2019), National Innovation Award (RBMP, 2019), Y.Z Outstanding Professor (Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation, 2019), Outstanding Electrical Professor (Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering, 2021), and Y.Z Chair Professor (Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation, 2021). He is a Fellow of IET.
