Prof. Tekinay has more than twenty years of executive experience in academia and government sectors: as University President, Vice President, Dean of Engineering, Research Center Director, and Program Director. She has shown visionary leadership and executive oversight.
Her technical background is as a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in wireless communications, and smart environments.
Dr Fae Martin began her professional career as a civil engineer specialising in structural design.
Fae currently holds the position of Deputy Dean - Learning and Teaching in the School of Engineering and Technology at CQUniversity, ensuring the quality of delivery and providing strategic leadership for the diverse courses offered by the School. Major discipline areas within the School are Engineering, ICT, Built Environment, Project Management and Aviation.
Fae was Head of Undergraduate Engineering Programs in 2011 and 2016 when the CQUni undergraduate engineering programs were granted full 5 year accreditation by Engineers Australia. These engineering programs have a strong focus on contextual learning with the inclusion of co-op work placements and project-based learning. The programs are offered on 5 geographically dispersed campuses as well as in distance mode.
During her time in program management, Fae developed a strong interest in curriculum design and work-integrated learning.
Prof Wells is the Head of College - ICT at CQUniversity. She has held this role since June 2020 when the University restructured due to the impact of COVID-19 on its operations and prior to that has held various Head of Course roles since 2010. In her new role, she continues to lead the strategic and operational direction of Undergraduate and Postgraduate ICT courses.
Prof Wells is a member of the Queensland Branch Executive Committee for Australian Computer Society and has previously served as Co-Vice Chair of the committee.
Prior to joining CQUniversity, she was with University of Western Sydney (UWS) until early 2006. At UWS, she taught in the areas of information systems, and knowledge management.
Prior to joining UWS, she held various senior management positions in insurance and environmental industry, and she worked in the information systems, finance and administration areas.
From early 1990s until 1996 she was a consultant implementing ERP systems in small to medium size organisations. In addition to her current senior academic leadership position, Prof Wells finds time to publish scholarly articles, attend conferences, and supervise master and doctoral research students.
