Mr. James Harrison Wilson Thompson was an American Businessman and the architect who's mysteriously disappeared in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia in March 1967. The man started his business of Thai silk and finally brought it worldwide famous by provided the costume of casts in the broadway musical 'The King and I' (1951). You can visit his residence in Bangkok at 'Jim Thompson House Museum' a legacy of his amazing Thai Houses and his collection of antiques which attracts numbers of visitors each year.

Mr.Thompson’s vision was to create a sustainable operation that could integrate farming, silk production, and the preservation of Thai heritage. Over time, the farm became a key part of his broader efforts to improve the local economy and showcase the artistry of Thai silk. Today, Jim Thompson Farm also functions as an educational and cultural center, where visitors can learn about silk production, Thai agriculture, and the farm’s environmental efforts.
In addition to its commercial and cultural significance, the farm is famous for its beautiful surroundings, including lush landscapes and seasonal flower gardens, making it a popular destination for tourists. It remains a lasting symbol of Jim Thompson’s legacy in promoting Thai silk and traditional craftsmanship worldwide.
The farm only open for visiting just once a year during the winter season of Thailand for one month.
