I am Alex Torres, your instructor for this course. My qualifications include over 25 years within the information security industry. From, working in the private sector, government contracts, consultation work, and finally to education. I was one of those people who had to take apart everything just to see how it works. I look forward to working with and getting to know each of you.

Just a little bit about myself, I have a Master of Information Systems with a focus on Information Security, A Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Computer Science as well as a Graduate Certificate in Information Assurance. I also hold the Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, OSCP, CCNA, WCNA, SnortCP as well as other active certifications. I am currently employed at Hewlett Packard Enterprise where I have worked in Cyber Security and Information Technology for the past 18 years. I have performed Security Architect, Design, and implantation of security services as well as spearheaded the Threat and Vulnerability Management program at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. I have conducted numerous Penetration Tests, Vulnerability Assessments, Security Audits, Compliance Audits and have also worked as a Security Consultant for various Healthcare Providers and Legal entities within the Greater Sacramento and San Francisco areas. I was also the director of education outreach for the Sacramento ISACA chapter as well as an active member of InfraGard.
