About the Picture
The picture you selected was taken during an attempt to troubleshoot a fiber connection that had been installed by contractors. The entire network path had fallen off which had been installed within about 3 months of the picture. After arrival on site I had tried to use my Power Meter to detect light coming through the path. No light was detected. I cleaned connectors and re-tested. Still no light coming through. I opened up the backside of the panel and reseated the connector and retested. Finally, I ran a trace using the OTDR to see if there was a fault. The fault appeared to be right there at the connector. As it turned out several of the contractors splices had some broken glass internally and when cold and moisture built up the path failed. I will from now on recommend that contractors have a scope snapshot provided of the connector end.
