Pre Departure

October 1, 2023: The deadline for the Gilman scholarship! I applied for this scholarship to alleviate some stress from the financial burden of traveling internationally.

October 10, 2023: All International Student Teaching applications for Spring 2024 are due.

October 25, 2023: I was awarded the World Topper Scholarship from WKU's Global Learning and International Affairs!!! I was beyond excited to know I had some assistance in my travels and look forward to participating in my service project. 

November 14, 2023: My placement for International Student Teaching was confirmed! Ireland here I come!! 

November 18, 2023: Study Abroad meeting for all students at WKU studying abroad druing the Spring 2024 semester. I was excited to attend and meet student that would also be traveling to Ireland at the same time as me. 

December 6, 2023: Gilman scholarship announcements were made... I was selected to receive a scholarship!!!!

January-February: The dates for my study abroad trip were finalized! I will be in Ireland for four weeks to complete my third student teaching placement. Booked my plane tickets!

March: Began planning my travel within Ireland. Booked a hotel room for two nights in Dublin, and a day bus tour from Dublin to Northern Ireland. 

March 31: I am off to Dublin! I will continue my updates through my travel/journal entries.
