I have absolutely loved International Student Teaching in Ireland! I am so grateful to Western for allowing me to participate in such a unique and special experience. I saw that children are children- in Ireland and the United States. They are imaginative, social, and soak up information like sponges. Though I will likely never teach at a school like Cloondaff in America, I loved getting to be a part of an increasingly rare and unique school setting. I gained a greater understanding and respect for education abroad, as well as the American education system (which I did not expect). Teaching is a noble profession and a rewarding one. The memories that I made with my mentor teachers and students at Cloondaff National School are ones that I will carry with me for the rest of my life!
