Summary of the Article:
Researchers have developed a new data storage method that utilizes entangled protons that twist like corkscrews to produce holographic data storage systems that are highly secure.
Possible Implications:
This technique could potentially contribute to quantum encryption which is theoretically unhackable! This would have extremely significant effects in fields such as finance which require high levels of security. In addition, the twisted photon states that exist in a hologram have a high data storage potential which would be revolutionary for developing much-needed high-density data storage.

Summary of the Article:
Researchers have found a new correlation between the role of peer relationships and the math confidence gap, which ultimately affects gaps in math skills between genders.
Possible Implications:
Through encouraging better social integration, in the future, we could potentially closen the gap in math confidence across genders by potentially promoting certain social skills or promting certain social behavior, which can further contribute towards other issues such as a the underrepresentation of women in STEM. Additionally, this study can help foster further research in looking at the intersection of social sciences and mathematics in a broader lens, allowing research to not only look at gender norms and stereotypes, but also other social behavior such as social integration, as in this case.

This Viral AI Chatbot Will Lie and Say It’s Human
Summary of the Article: Bland AI released a viral video ad showcasing their human-sounding voice bots, showing concern over their potential to deceive people. Tests by WIRED revealed that these bots could be easily programmed to lie about being human. The company's head growth emphasized that their bots are used in controlled experiments for clients, not for emotional connection. Critics argue that the realistic nature of these AI Bots do not align with ethical lines and could lead to manipulation. Mozilla's Caltrider and other researchers call for clear labeling and firm guardrails to prevent AI chatbots from pretending to be human.
Possible Implications: The realistic AI bots from Bland AI could lead to increased deception and manipulation of users, making it hard for people to disntinguish between human and AI interactions. This infers the need for clear regulations and transparency in AI technology. On the other hand, it suggests that AI could potentially become new companions for humans in the near future.

Honeybees can “smell” lung cancer
Summary of the Article:
Researchers performed an experiment by exposing honeybees to odors, one mimicking a healthy person's breath and one mimicking the breath of a person with lung cancer. The bees were able to distinguish between the two around 93 percent of the time.
Possible Implications:
In the future, with more studying of course, we could use honeybees as an alternative way to detect lung cancer for people that are not usually able to use the normal scanning methods (PET, CT, MRI, etc). This also implies the possibility of other detection methods in the future using animals, including those other than honeybees, as there is evidence to show they are able to detect diseases and illnesses and would provide a much more patient-friendly diagnosis method.
