The Israeli Computer Science Association is intended to serve as a national, academic, professional body that is democratic and transparent, working to advance research, teaching, and community in computer science in Israel, and to strengthen the standing of the field in Israel and worldwide. The Association was established מתוך the understanding that computer science is a central field with broad impact on research, education, the economy, and security, and that there is a need for a nationwide professional body to bring together the academic community and promote its shared interests.
The goals of the Association include creating a permanent platform for collaborations, conferences, and workshops; providing professional representation for the field מול government bodies, funding and budgeting agencies, and research foundations; promoting the quality of teaching and education in computer science; developing ties with industry for the benefit of research, human-capital training, and support for community activities; and representing Israel in international professional organizations while promoting equal opportunities for Israeli computer scientists in international activities.
The Association will operate in an academic, nationwide, and multidisciplinary spirit, with a commitment to transparency, rotational leadership, and a non-partisan, non-commercial character.
