The Israeli Computer Science Association is being established in order to create a shared national framework for the computer science community in Israel.
Computer science is a broad, dynamic, and influential field, lying at the heart of scientific research, technological innovation, industry, and modern society. Israel is home to a strong and diverse academic community in computer science, including researchers, faculty members, students, postdoctoral fellows, departments, faculties, and research institutes at institutions across the country.
The Association is intended to serve as a home for this community, to strengthen ties among institutions and researchers, to promote collaborations, to support conferences and community initiatives, and to encourage broad professional and academic discourse in computer science.
Among the goals of the Association are:
Promoting and strengthening the computer science community in Israel
Supporting conferences, workshops, symposia, and scientific activities
Creating a framework for collaboration among academic institutions
Encouraging and supporting the next generation of researchers
Publishing position papers and providing a professional voice on issues related to computer science in Israel
Strengthening ties among academia, industry, and the broader public, where relevant to the Association’s activities
The Association is currently in its founding stage. As a first step, a national mailing list is being established to provide updates on the Association’s activities, conferences, initiatives, awards, calls for applications, and other announcements relevant to the computer science community in Israel.
