International Symposium on Isotope Physiology, Ecology, and Geochemistry

June 24th -27th, 2019 @Sapporo, Japan

Welcome to IsoPEG'19!

Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to Sapporo, Japan, to participate in the International Symposium on Isotope Physiology, Ecology, and Geochemistry 2019 (IsoPEG’19).

Over the last four decades, the use of stable isotope analysis of bulk H, C, and N in organisms or their tissues has resulted in impressive advances in our understanding of ecological energy cycles in biosphere. In particular, compound-specific isotope analysis (CSIA) of N within amino acids in consumers has proven a powerful tool for estimating trophic energy transfer and resource utilization in ecosystem today and throughout history. CSIA has recently expanded to a lot of science fields, particularly for physiology, ecology, and geochemistry, with novel technologies including the precise measurements of carbon isotopes (13C and 14C) in individual compounds as well as to assess the intra-molecular isotopic heterogeneity within a single compound.

The aim of this meeting is to exchange new findings, thoughts, and even unexplainable data of ours, for better understanding ‘isotopes’ and for accelerating CSIA applications in physiology, ecology, and geochemistry, as well as to build onfurther great collaborations.

We look forward to seeing you in Sapporo!
