Reservation of Existing Number is an initiative to address the demand of MTN customers to have their assigned

numbers (MSISDNs) kept active if they do not generate revenue over a period.

Customers who request for number reservation will be exempted from churn. (Avoid termination and recycling of the number)

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE

Interested subscribers can dial the short code *1390# and follow the prompts.. Dial *1390# and choose option 1 or 2.

Two (2) reservation options will be made available to customers to choose from. i.e. To Reserve their own number or Reserve for someone.

In reserving for someone an SMS will be sent to third party to confirm his or her consent before proceeding.

Two(2) reservation periods (1year & 2years) will also be made available to customers to choose from

Each reservation period comes with a specific charge i.e 12months – GH¢15, 24months– GH¢25

An alternate number through which customer will be communicated to during the reservation period will be requested.

(only local mobile numbers – vodafone,Tigo, Airtel and Glo)

The system then verifies if the subscriber has adequate credit balance to effect the transaction

A Notification will then be sent via SMS to subs to confirm service activation or otherwise.

Another SMS will be sent to customers a week to expiry of request to prompt them to either extend request or otherwise.

Failure to renew request after 1month will result in deletion and recycling of the number.

Customer can only renew request after expiry of former request.

Customer can dial a *1390# and select option 3 to check the expiry of his reservation.

Service is not available to ported numbers. Customer who ports after reserving number will automatically be taken off the service

Reserved numbers will remain active so customers can use them even during the reservation period.

Subscriber’s remaining balance shall not replenish during the reservation period.

Numbers that are not renewed upon expiry will be inactive after 6 months and can be terminated and recycled
