Play Store payment with MTN Mobile Money is a service which allows MTN customers on Android to pay for Apps, Games,
Music, books and more on Play Store directly from their MTN MoMo Wallet.
Customers need to first set up an Account by following steps below:
Select ‘Account’ on the Play Store menu
Select ‘Payment Methods’
Select “ Use MTN Mobile Money Billing” to add a payment method
Select Enter billing address
Enter Name
Enter Street address
Enter City
Tab “Save” to complete
How to Make Purchase and Pay with MoMo:
Customers on Android can perform any paid transactions on the Play Store and pay via their MTN MoMo wallet with
the following steps:
Select item to purchase
Accept App permissions
Click on Amount
Select ‘Click to Buy’
Customer is asked to verify MTN MoMo PIN.
Customer authenticate purchase with ‘Yes’ or ‘Cancel’
How often would you like to confirm password: Click “Every time or Never”
If deduction is successful, customer is notified via SMS.
Item or App is downloaded successfully
Description for deduction on ECW after payment is made will show as Google Direct Service. Only the cost of purchase made will be taken with no extra charge from the customer’s wallet.
Refund Paid Apps & Games:
After purchasing an app or game on Google Play via MoMo Wallet, the customer can return it within 2 hours for a full refund.
Within the 2 hours refund window, Open and Refund buttons will be displayed. If a Refund button is not displayed then
purchase is not eligible for refund.
Below are the steps to refund and uninstall the apps:
1. Open the Google Play Store app.
2. Touch the Play Store icon > My Apps.
3. Select the app or game to be refunded.
4. Select Refund.
5. Follow the instructions to complete your refund and uninstall your app or game.
After the 2 hours refund period has passed, an Uninstall button will appear instead of a Refund button. Selecting Uninstall will remove the application from customer’s device but refund will not be given.
Note: Customers cannot return an app or game more than once. If a refund for an app during the 2 hour period has been done and the same App is purchased again, customer cannot refund a second time.
Refund will indicate from Google Direct Services on ECW in the customer’s wallet
Customers will receive sms notification when payment is deducted from their wallet and when refund is credited to their wallet.
