MOBILE MONEY MASTER CARD (Tutuka)

Tutuka is a mobile money enabled service that allows mobile money users to shop online and make payment using their mobile money accounts.

The service is available for all mobile money customers.

How It Works                    

A virtual card is created via mobile money using the USSD menu (*170#).

Virtual card is a 16 digit digital card that can be used online only for ecommerce payments. It can be used on any online shopping website that accepts MasterCard for payment.

After the creation of virtual card, customer receives two (2) SMS. One (1) contains the 16 PAN digits, and the other one (1) contains the CVV 3 digits number and the card expiry date.

Card created is valid for 14 days and has a daily shopping limit equivalent to customers’ Mobile money account daily limit.

The card has a total shopping limit of Ghc10,000.00

NOTE. Please note that Ghc10,000.00 is not deducted from customer’s MM account after generating a card, but deductions are only made when customer makes payment for items purchased with the card.

Virtual card created is linked to mobile money account and payments made for online shopping are debited to customer’s mobile money account.

Input 5 for Finanacial Services

Input 8 for Bank Services

Input option 4 for Virtual Card

Input option 1 for Mastercard.

Input 1 to create a virtual card

Input your MoMo pin to confirm

You will receive a pop up message for successfully created a virtual card.

You will receive an SMS containing your Virtual Card number/PAN, CVV and the expiry date.

Enter Virtual Card number/PAN, CVV and expiry date on shopping website to make a payment.

You will receive an SMS after a successful transaction.

Under Option 4, We Have The Following

Create a Virtual Card          use to create the virtual MasterCard

Forgot virtual Card             use to redeem a card that has its details forgotten     

Suspend card                     customer uses this option to suspend card if not in use 

Activate                             Used to activate a suspended card

Terminate Virtual card        Customer uses this option to terminate a card that has its details compromised

Check Balance                    used to check the virtual card’s balance

How to make payment online

On the payment interface of the shopping site, please select MasterCard payment option, and enter the “PAN digits” at the card number space and

“CVV digits” at the CVV space.

NOTE: Virtual card gets blocked after ten (10) minutes on inactivity. However, it can be activated anytime within its validity period for shopping by

selecting Activate from the menu under option 4.

Charges

Customer is charged Ghc0.50 for generating a card

Payments for items purchased online from local stores attract charges similar to mobile money P2P charges (ie Ghc0.50 for payments of Ghc50.00 or less; and 1% charge for payments more than Ghc50.00)

Payment for international online shopping attracts 3.5% charge of whatever is purchased.
