To curb the problem of fraudsters pushing payments prompts for customers to approve without their knowledge, “Allow Cash-Out” feature is being introduced from 04th November 2017
Once this feature is implemented, the customer must select “allow Cash Out” and turn it on from the phone before any cash out request can be sent to the customer’s phone.
If the customer has not allowed cash out he will not receive any prompt to put in their pin.
Customer authorizes cash out request to hit their wallet once they turn on the Feature.
The “Cash-Out” will be active for 5 minutes when turned on, and then automatically turned off after the 5 minutes period. The customer can however choose to turn it off at any time before the 5 mins timeout period.

I. To Withdraw Money from your Wallet (Cash Out)
1. Visit the nearest MTN Service Center or Agent Outlet.
2. Give your phone number and amount to be withdrawn to the Agent.
3. Dial *170# select Option 4 to Allow Cash Out.
4. Select Option 1 to Turn Cash Out On.
5. You will receive a prompt on your phone; check the details and authorize the transaction by entering your Mobile Money PIN.
6. Once the transaction is confirmed, the Agent will hand over cash to you.
7. You will also receive a confirmation SMS of a successful Cash Out.
8. To turn off Cash Out dial *170# select Allow Cash Out and select option 2.

• Agents will now only receive a notification once customer has allowed cash out and has enough funds for a successful transaction
• Agents will receive “no service reply feedback” if customer has not allowed the cash out feature or has insufficient funds
• Insufficient funds feedback will only be given to the customer
Agents will receive sms below to notify them of the changes
“Yello Valued Agent, please note that effective 28/12/2017, All cash out notifications will be sent to customers. Agents will not receive any notification if customer has not allowed the cash out option. Thank you”
