ISLANDS moves its steps considering our society's done of consumers who encourage a consumerism lifestyle. Within consumerism, tourism represents a growing sector nevertheless the economic crisis. It is the third expenditure item of household incomes, impacting more than 10% of the Global GDP. Given this scenario, natural resources, particularly the seaside, are assaulted by tourism and recreational use, creating several impacts on biodiversity and landscape. The phenomenon does not consider the specificity of our places because it looks exclusively at economic conditions without considering the Environment. Several NGOs sound the alarm about this problem, and they recall all countries to protect the seaside against pollution, construction industries and residential tourism. ISLANDS is an educational laboratory where students, teachers and stakeholders may design new approach models to the seaside planning to create transnational models for territorial governance. We need to look at systemic and educative approaches to the matter. The systemic approach regards the governance of our territories when the educative process feels the future generations.
