A gesture controlled robot was made for a competition "Minefield", held at IIT-Kharagpur Techfest in 2015. The bot was able to reach the finals of the competition among hundreds of participants!
Problem statement: Build a semi-autonomous robot capable of detecting hidden metal mines autonomously and rescuing stranded victims using gesture recognition in a minefield.
The robot was able to perform:
- Traverse arena using hand gestures.
- Pick and drop victims.
- Identify metal mines on the arena.
Components used:
- Accelerometers
- At-mega 328 micro-controller
- DC motors (200 rpm)
- Gripper Module (20 rpm)
