Each time content on the website is accessed, data that may allow identification is temporarily stored. The following data is collected:
- Date and time of access
- IP address
- Hostname of the accessing computer
- Website from which the website was accessed
- Websites accessed through the website
- Page visited on our website
- Notification whether the access was successful
- Amount of data transferred
- Information about the browser type and version used
- Operating system
The temporary storage of the data is necessary for the process of a website visit to enable the delivery of the website. Further storage in log files is done to ensure the functionality of the website and the security of the information technology systems. This is also our legitimate interest in data processing. When registering for the internet seminar via the contact form, we also collect and store your name, email address, country of residence, and university affiliation. The email addresses are further entered into the email distribution list isem28@listserv.dfn.de to facilitate simple and secure email communication with participants.
**b. On what legal basis is this data processed?**
The data is processed based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
**c. Are there any other recipients of the personal data besides the controller?**
The website is hosted by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland. The host receives the aforementioned data as a processor.
**d. How long is the data stored?**
Apart from the data collected via the contact form, all transmitted data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of its collection. For the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session ends. The log files are kept accessible only to administrators and are then only indirectly available through the reconstruction of backup tapes and are permanently deleted after a maximum of four weeks.

The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of log files are essential for the operation of the website. Therefore, they are not based on consent according to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR or a contract according to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR but are justified under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Consequently, the conditions of Article 20(1) GDPR are not met.

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The controller will then no longer process the personal data unless compelling legitimate grounds for the processing are demonstrated that override the interests, rights, and freedoms of the data subject, or the processing is for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
